Probiotic Products That Failed Consumer Labs Tests (November, 2009)
Failing were:
Metagenics Ultra Flora Plus DF Capsules (1 capsule, 1 to 2 per day) with only 10
percent of label claim.
DDS Acidophilus (powder, ΒΌ teaspoon per day) with 36 percent.
Culturelle with 58 percent.
And other brands that I'd never
heard of or don't consider to be as good as others for my personal use.
Including: Align, Natures' Secret, Swiss Strain Sources, Dr. D Chocolate
Flavored Probiotics (chocolate flavored bears), i-Flora Probiotics for Kids,
And
for pets - Ark Naturals Gentle Digest, Optimal Pet Probiotics.
Jarrow's products were good.
I take Jarrow's UltraDophilus 40 billion count 10 strain probiotic one month per year, as ten capsules per day, equalling 400 billion bacteria to super-saturate for optimal immune response AND for improved serotonin. The rest of the time I drink kefir on a daily basis.
