Drug Reclassification Rethink Urged
The article linked from BBC News/UK presents an interesting science-based look at reclassifying drugs of abuse. Currently, these drugs are classified using what amount basically to notions that are not based on an analysis of the hard science that has accumulated over the last few dozen years.
I present this article because it's closer to being logical than anything I've seen so far. I do not agree with it completely. I would change the order in the chart of "Most Harmful Drugs" towards the end of the article.
For instance, I think methamphetamine is more dangerous than benzodiazapines. Cannabis is almost without danger and is certainly less dangerous than anything on the list, so it should be at the bottom, at the far right. But overall, the table presents a clearer picture of what's most dangerous than what medical doctors and law enforcement officers are currently taught.
